Lincoln City FC

Some very good players in the photo below.

Taken in front of the press box and the St Andrews stand

Bill Anderson the manager on the Right I used to be his paper boy

Ernie Whittle next to him used to be my snooker partner at the Con Club

Roy Finch far right on the front row I have played against him when he played for East End v Adelaide Park

Harry Troop  front row far left used to live 4 doors away from our school St Andrews and used entertain the kids interested in football

We also used to get various City players regularly coming to take us for PT and football as it was so near the ground and our school pitch was the one next to the ground behind the Echo stand.

Tony Emery  3rd from right front row used to work local after he left football as you all most likely will know, and his daughter worked at the Fire Station HQ on South Park Ave.

Andy Graver always seemed to be around the Cross Street area  so us kids usually would have a word with him, it probably was because his brother originally lived in Portland St. and of course the Football ground.

Our house was in Cross Street

Re: Lincoln City FC

In the middle to late sixties, East End and Adelaide Park were the top two local league teams and I went to watch their games a few times.

Re: Lincoln City FC

Andy and Alf both traded with my Dad. Dad had the butchers shop on Chelmsford street and we lived above the shop next door which Mum ran and was on the corner of Cross St and Chelmsford St. I used to play golf at Torksey with Andy, Dan McPhail and Bernard Towler. Bernard was in his 60's ad Dan his 70's. The 3 of them kept me entertained for hours with their football stories in the 19th.

Dan McPhail had a bookies on the lower High Street. I backed my first ever winner there, Blakeney in the 1969 Derby.

I only deleted it because of the ugly photobucket Ad, I was going to re-enter the writing again below the last post, but it deleted everything on the thread.
It doesn't look as though you can download anything from facebook without paying.
I will try to get round it someway.
So it's work in progress image

Such a good man, Impecunious. Now you know why I couldn't bring myself to remove your admin rights, as I am sure everyone will agree!
