So, just to expand on things not being perfect by a long way, we now have some idea of the type of player Sutton wants in his squad, Football ability (obviously), pace, age (young), and a good attitude seem to be at the top of his list.
Already Brown, Butcher and Clucas have been told they can go, but I can see another dozen or more who will need luck and hard work not to be discarded in favour of more of CS's own signings.
These are my thoughts.
Two that I feel will definitely not be here next season are Kovacs (ticks age and attitude but not the other criteria in my opinion), and Oakes (ticks ability in spades) but attitude only sometimes and the other two not at all.
Connor would have to impress and remain fit to figure. Gordon, Clarke J, and Fagan, are likely to get limited chances unless injuries to others help them and won't all survive. Hone, Adams, Hutchinson, Miller, and Coleman-Carr might have suffered from being associated with PJ and a youth system that CS seems to have reservations about. I'm not sure about LJL, Clarke S or Swaibu either, but they are not a bad fit for what appear to be Sutton's criteria, and are the most likely to get a chance to prove their worth to CS plans.
