I don't think we signed him on the back of that performance Posh. For one we had a different manager and staff when he eventually did sign under Lord Colin Murphy!
Still it doesn't take away from the fact that Captain Peakey was the greatest player of my time watching the Imps. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if I get to see another player in a red & white shirt over the next 30 years who is as good as he was I will be a very lucky man.
Isn't it time he was commemorated in some way at the club. Can we not get him back to the bank for a dinner or a presentation. Its 30 years since he signed isn't it?
