I still do have the passion for Lincoln City and can't see it subsiding just yet. I'm possibly past my sell by date as far as etiquette goes but the over zealous celebrations are a bit too much to stomach, just a bit more Americanisation of us IMO but that's what the media seem to bring out in players and fans, hey ho.
I am basically a pro European (with caveats) but find that there many supporters of the European Ryder cup team who would leave the European community If given the vote/choice, funny old game saint!.
I can date the decline of my passion for LCFC quite accurately with the benefit of the passing of time. It was intact when we lost to Grimsby (last time I went to Blundell Park) in the playoffs of 2006, which was the last of KA at Lincoln and fifty years since I first went to Sincil Bank . By the time Bristol Rovers came round the following year cracks were showing, despite the first half of the season being full of good things. And there's been a slow but steady decline ever since. A succession of moderate managers and eventual relegation didn't help, and neither did the closing of the Railway End (or Stacey West) for the second time in a few years, the home of most of my football friends, some of whom went back over 40 years. To my knowledge only one of those friends attends regularly now, some have passed on and the rest have drifted away. Ahhh, excuses, excuses.
I sometimes think I shouldn't be on here, I want City to do well and thrive, but freely admit the love affair is probably over for good, and not because I found anyone else. As I've said before I do admire the spirit of all on here who keep the faith. And the breadth of discussion on this forum is amazing.
