Just got in at 4-20pm and we are 1-0 down, whats going on?
Said it was lax play by City to concede the goal.
Can we get a goal , tall order in our current form.

Squad rotation??????? Get the feeling something has gone very wrong in the last few games. Results are very poor and changing very quickly, the forwards are always going to have a dry spell. Time for him to earn his corn.

Why don't we start with this setup.
            Townsend.
        Miller.  Newton.
  Brown.  Jordan. Anderson.
     Ledsham. Bencheriff.
Burrow.  Yorke. Tomlinson.

Even though I put that team down, that's a better team than he put out today, so I've got to agree with you on that about Simmo David.

Some players perform better than others in training and that's what Simmo seems to look at, but then perform poor on match days.
While others perform worse in training, and he doesn't consider them, but are more likely to be up for it on match days.
At centre half I think Jordan would do the simple things well heading, tackling and clearing his defence without mucking about with the ball and trying to be clever.

Its pretty good he's picking favourites especially Power who's been awful when I've seen this season.

I was on stage doing a murder mystery thriller last night and we had an impromptu extra rehearsal or two yesterday afternoon, hence my absence. It was £10 to watch but included a (very tasty) fish 'n chip supper with choc ice for afters. We had over fifty in attendance and their questions in the Q/A session went brilliantly. A good night was had by all with the winner walking away with £20 and a not-yet-released dvd based on the life of Mary Queen of Scots - the play was called  "Foul Play at Fotheringay."

As for the match, I managed to listen to bits of it and can't say it was enjoyable. Seems like the goal we conceded was a comedy of errors starting with Bencherif and the compounded by Power. otherwise, I can't really comment but, according to the BBC, we had 9 shots to their 10 with 5 on target to their 4.

In the past, a run of poor results, or even a single defeat, would have inspired lots of conversation on here. Perhaps everyone is enjoying the goodish weather and doing other things?

On commentary it wa Nolan who gave the balla way.
I'm more interested in this "foul play" is it rife around P'boro?

Moving house mate and its birthday weekend. We are having a family day out at the match next week, preceding by new bed shopping and lunch in town. Be my girlfriend's first game since the 80s when her dad took her when she was little!

Its all become too predictable. What is there left to say, practically everyone knew Simmo had come up with another unbalanced squad but we got away with it for a while because we were scoring regularly. Now the goals have dried up we have sunk to ending other teams bad runs. It's a long time since I passionately cared about City,  just look for the result and attend occasionaly now. If it takes Grimsby to really wind us up, and then they produce depressing three defeats after, you have to question either the players or the managers notivation. The form is in the book, we are just about good enough to stay in this league and that looks like the limit of our ambition. I just hope things change for the better before I stop caring altogether.

More the case of total and utter frustration. So damned annoyed, not rocket science to identify imbalance of squad nor individuals who are incapable of putting in a shift or maybe it is for the management?

I'll stick with them , I've had my moments but come the next home match I'm there, sometimes I get that "don't want to go" feeling pre match as I fear the worst, but I always go.
I hope I don't come to the point where I care a bit less about City.
I'll be out for a Sunday evening beer with friends, two are premiership "supporters" I use the word vey losely. There will be discussions on performances but it goes over my head, it's not reality for me, Sincil Bank is, rain or shine.
I can visit the Emirates fairly regularly should I choose to but there would never will be for me be that feeling you get when it's City, up's and downs alike.
We are in a sh1te playing period at the moment and I wouldn't profess to know the answer why we  are, however it's time to ring some changes and although the defence is taking the brunt of the criticism it's in midfield where they need to change personnel for me.

Inasmuch as defending should be done as a team I agree. But of the defenders on the books only Miller and Newton are fit for purpose. I have the same feelings for Nat Brown as you have for Alan Power, he wasn't up to it when he left us years ago, and he is no better now. First in with Simpson, no attempt to sort out what was already there, looked like jobs for the boys then and still does.
I don't have the answers either, but I would like an answer as to how sides with a lot less coming through the gate can manage to attract better players, and I have to say, more clued up managers.
Admire your indefatigable enthusiasm. The best I can say for me is that I haven't taken to supporting anyone else.

We've always seem to have employed managers who take their favourites round them, Jacko was the same, Tilson and as for Holdsworth well!!!! All managers do it they bring in players they trust sadly our knows useless players in the main. I read he's off to watch a game tomorrow with a view to bring another defender from that.

Enthusiasm, not sure thats's how it looks from this end, maybe loyalty somewhat misplaced sometimes,  perhaps. born with it, die with it never having acheived measureable success.
The problem for me is more Nolan than Power. NB is a plain and simple stopper. no quality on the ball but generally does deal with stuff OK, Diagne however is less convincing.
NB needs a bit of quality alongside him and he will do, as I say defending stats when you lose the ball, midfielders have to put a foot in  ow and again, Nolan has no desire other that to look stylish, Powwer can over play but again with the correct partner could be OK althought it seems sometimes he not in the right frame of mind.
Simmo, I'm at a loss on that one, is he good enough, can't say, will give him the season and if he cant make the top half with his current squad then he will need to be replaced.

I think that those stats prove what I thought; it did sound like it was a close game...
