Lies, damned lies and statistics (and too much time on my hands).
I calculate Simmo has been in charge for 77 league and cup games, 30 wins, 19 draws, 28 defeats win percentage 38.9+.
70 league games 27 wins, 17 draws, 26 defeats win percentage 38.5+,  points gained 98 average points per game 1.4 which equates to 64 points in a season of 46 games.
Not a bad record on the face of it.
So why do I doubt he's the man for the job.

Good stats there, mate, but like you, I do wonder the same and seriously do question his tactical ability. I also wonder if the dressing room really is a place of joy, peace and happiness. We didn't need Delano Sam-Yorke and would have been far better off signing a decent centre back, which I think most fans could have told Simmo ages ago.

The problem besides the midfield is that since Sam Yorke has come back Tomlinson is playing too far away from him on the left were as before if Sam Yorke had the ball on the right wing Tomlinson was positioned central ready for the cross now he's got Burrows in between him and Yorke, also Simmo not startting Yorke from the kick off.
We should be playing all 3 up front together.
I've already posted a team Simmo should be playing.

            Townsend.
        Miller.  Newton.
  Brown.  Jordan. Anderson.
     Ledsham. Bencheriff.
Burrow.  Yorke. Tomlinson.

I'd like to see us start with that 11.

When he played on the left wing, left fullback or in midfield I thought he looked awkward and wasn't sure of where anyone about him was,and didn't rate him, but when he played at the centre of the defence I thought he played as well as I'd seen anyone play in that position for City, mainly because he was facing the play and everying time the ball or opponent approached they came while he was facing them, he was good at heading the ball and didn't mess about with any fancy passing in danger areas he just cleared the danger area.
I thought he gave the others in defence more confidence as they knew he would clear the ball everytime and wouldn't put any of them under pressure with awkward passes like Nat & Diagne & Caprice do.

He's a bit like NB, plays it simple , a bit younger than NB, attacks the ball and I agree he would make a decent left side CB, pissibly not quick enough on the turn for LB, decent in the air though, what will be will be.

I agree with Jal, Jordan could do a job for us in defence for the very reasons Jal explained. He needs to be facing the ball and the opposition. He is also more talented with his feet than either Brown or Diagne, too, in terms of moving the ball forward. I thought Simmo likes him, so why hasn't he figured much this season? I know he had sustained an injury early on, but surely that's cleared up by now?

Yeah he's been injured and yeah he's definitely a manager's favourite, seems to like limited hard workers maybe they remind of himself as a player.

I've never seen that before, a double post THREE minutes apart. My computer did just crash, though, so maybe that had something to do with it.

You do suffer, don't you. Didn't you have the 'flu last year, too?  Perhaps it's working in a hospital that does it.

Not had the flu for years, always have the jab,  sadly I've got this before its available. Had a cold this time last year. Have a pretty good attendance, first time off sick in over a year and before it was almost 3 years.
