Hi everyone, Posh Imp here for the afternoon.  That's some bold line-up Simmo has gone with today. I am very pleased to see Brown back and Ledsham making a start. Also very attack-minded with Burrow, Tomlinson and Sam-Yourke all starting.

I feel a bit more confident now.

Oh dear, Burrow gets a straight red for a two-footed challenge on Moke.

Moke retalliated and only got a yellow, inconsistent refereeing.

Ref had no choice with red card imho, decision helped by Maccs palyers reaction.

Sometimes wish our players were more street savy like this.

But dont think I could if I was playing, would make sure that I got my own back latter though.

Best disciplined defensive play from an Imps ten man team that I have seen for a long time, thought we were more likely to score in second half.

Sam Yorke and Ledsham made a difference, and thought young centerhalf grew into game. Good to see him at one point telling Miller where he wanted him.

Overall a good team performance.

Well done City, the day is always better with a win.
Used to be easier for a 'keeper to get revenge. 'Accidental' knees and fists at corner kicks.

Never really looked in any danger even when down to 10 men bar a couple of occasions.
Good honest performances all rund today,.
Great to see positive action in midfield, Ledsham is a better option than Power or Nolan, when you have forwards like Tommo who has that half a yard of pace on most defenders you done want mid fielders over playing it needs to be in the box early from the flanks.
Shame Burrow lost his head otherwise a good day.

Has Newton got 5 bookings, read elsewhere is banned for Tuesday? Decent numbers in Poachers club, rumour has it the club have been giving tickets to school, great news if true as the kids round us really enjoyed it granted the early goal helped.

Newton was on four yellows before today and received his fifth today, so we can only assume that a one-match ban is forthcoming although I'm not sure if it doesn't start until seven days later.

Of the previous 11 opponents that the Imps played 7 of them have won their next game 2 have drawn and two have lost.

Wins: Kidderminster 3-0 v Alfreton, Altrincham 2-1 v Bristol Rovers, Barnet 2-1 at Nuneaton, Braintree 2-0 v Nuneaton, Torquay 4-0 v Nuneaton, Woking 1-0 at Aldershot, Bristol Rovers 3-1 v Nuneaton

Draws: Welling 1-1 v Gateshead, Aldershot 1-1 at Gateshead

Defeats: Halifax 1-2 at Bristol Rovers, Grimsby 0-2 v Torquay

Macclesfield's next game is at Altrincham so you would expect them to get something from that.

I respect Spimps views, so hope Ledsham keeps his place. Have a horrible feeling that Simmo had a 'Premiership squad rotation' moment and merely rested Power and Nolan.

Newton's fifth yellow on Saturday means he misses tonight's game as does Burrow who has a three match ban.

Well one thing's for sure, he won't be leading the Conference goalscorers' chart for a while.
