So just 34 above Bob's target figure of 2,900. Fact is, those figures include the Grimsby game and unless we have just started a fantastic run of results, I can't see us sustaining anywhere near 2,900.

It's up to Simmo and the lads to do something about that, starting on Tuesday.

Last night's gate of 2,394 was probably boosted by a number of free student entries and means that City have now had just over 20,000 in attendance for the seven games so far.

Our average now stands at 2,857 which is still very healthy and a couple of away wins at Nuneaton and Southport would go a long way to seeing us retain some of those extra fans in last night. If we can maintain anything up to 2,500 for the following home games Vs Telford and Wrexham I would be very happy.

Fortunately we have only two Tues night home games scheduled in the colder months, I say fortunately because last years Four Tue home games between Nov and Mar attracted a total of 6683 (ave 1671). Three home Tuesdays in warmer months attracted more than that (6868 ave 2289). Last night students had a free ticket offer, usually it costs £7 which is a good deal, but will be insufficient incentive to some, who probably have no affinity to City anyway, to get them out on a cold night with a warm students union bar to go to and Champions League on the box. And that's also a factor for the once committed, now floating, supporters like me.
The only remedy is success on the pitch.

I thought last night without the free pass students we would have been lucky to have managed 1700.

Are you saying that there were over 600 free entries last night?

Some very meaningful stats there, mate, and I fully agree with your other comments. Might we get more home games on a Tuesday, though, taking into account possible poor weather meaning Saturday games are postponed?

We are likely to get more Tuesdays. Last winter was very mild, and we had little in the way of cup runs to cause postponements. We're no different to any other side though. I think Tuesday nights generally see about a 10% reduction as opposed to Saturday. Tuesday night cup-ties would be even worse, I think the Worcester replay got less than 1400. But in cup ties the prize money helps out........if we win them.

Let's just hope that we avoid too many Tuesday games, then.

As for the FA Trophy, the draw dates are:

1st round proper; Sat 13 December and we will be playing in that round anyway, so no league game scheduled.
2nd round proper; Sat 10 January 2015 and we have no scheduled fixture that day.
3rd round proper; Sat 24 January 2015 and we are scheduled to be playing away to Torquay Utd.
Quarter finals; Sat 07 February 2015 and we are scheduled to be playing away to Bristol Rovers
Semi-Final one; Sat 21 February 2015 and we are scheduled to be playing away to Macclesfield
Semi-Final two; Sat 28 February 2015 and we are scheduled to be playing at home to Woking
Final; Sunday 29 March 2015 and we a scheduled to be playing Forest Green at home the day before

so, if we were to reach the final via semi-final one, we'd only have to re-arrange one home game; two if we were to reach the final via semi-final two.

Of course, if we are knocked out before the semi-final stage, we won't have any games re-arranged.

There were a lot of students there, the family stand end upper tier was 2/3 full ish, we couldn't sit where we normally do, certainly 500isn and maybe more.

Each of the seven blocks in the Co-op Stand holds about 750 seats so, if you say half at the bottom and half at the top then the upper tier would be full with around 375 people. Does that make you change your figures somewhat, or not?

Normally get around 6-700 turn up, is it only freshers who get the tickets? We have several thousand there at the main uni and BGC.
