Shoddy, really.

Different players same old problems, hmmmmm......................
I'm told Ledsham missed an absolute sitter at the death to win it.

I didn't think it was a sitter, running in at full throttle the ball was driven across the goal at pace and he struggled/lunged to make contact, I thought it was slightly behind him so it came off his ankle.
They always look easy from the stands.
He did along with marshall have a poor game, shme after the promise of Saturday, perhaps he needed a full weeks rest s he isnt fully fit yetr, I think he will if given a few games do the budsiness for us.
Mendy was top draw tonight, awesome again now fully match fit and outtuing himself about.
Should hve taken the points on balance against a talented team but felt we were starting to get back to a decent bit of form.

My mate  is always very cricitical of a missed chance, he sent me a couple of texts saying it was a sitter and he'll never have an easier chance to score, clearly wasn't quite like that, very typical of him LOL!!!

Always disappointing when close in chances are missed, some good work by DSY qand Tommo (needs to be on a longer contract soon) who were both on the rampage second half and got behind the defenders fizzing a few balls acros the box.
Superb header by Anderson, thunderbolt! mind you the corner from Tommo was spot on.

Thanks for the update, Brian. As you know, I couldn't make it tonight because I had a parents' evening. I like your comments re Ledsham and believe also that he will do the business for us.

I haven't been to a game since the loss at home Vs Bristol Rovers but will definitely be going to Nuneaton on Saturday with Joe; our second away game of the season following our win at Barnet. Let's hope we get two out of two, eh?

I would think that Gateshead would be far happier with a point than we are, they passed it around well but we put them under pressure, think the 10 men debacle took it's full toll tonight.

You've probably hit the nail right on the head with that comment, Brian,

It sounded thus on the radio, David. Should perhaps have won by all accounts.

A few of the boys in the other place say Townsend made a 'worldy' to keep us in it. So did the keeper save us a point, or did Ledsham cost us two, or was a draw the fair reflection the stats suggest.

Again, Lledsham had made a lot of ground to get on the back post, (which of our other mid fielders would have done that?) he missed, we can argue all day as to the difficlty but he got there.
Rob Blunderwood and Thommo were on the other side of play to Ledsham and me and couldn't have seen clearly through the players in the box to ledsham arriving late at the back postr, I'll stick by my version of events.
There were a couple of other chances we didn't quite take, stats apart we were certainly more of a threat bar a 10 minute spell from them in the latter stages of the first half.
I did forget to mention the stop from Townsend, breath taking, it was fairly close range with power and he scooped it away, instinctive save but he must have some powerful forearms to deal with that type of power.
Their back four in the second half were struggling with our pace and relentless closing down, we definetly should have won, then again I think it showed progress. I would fancy us to not get beat at their place.
Could be wrong as I certainly was after the Cods game :)

Highlights from Tuesday night's game. The first Ledsham chance seems to ricochet off a defender and hit him, the chance near the end could have at least been on target. Their goal was a bit sloppy.
