Announce five new signings to the cycling team, no Brits and no winners either, puzzled.
There migh be a couple of stage wins here and there in them but very average.
Can see next year being as fruitless on the road for them as this one was.
They should promote Geraint Thomas.

Isn't Fenn English ? At 30 there what you see is likely to be what you get with Roche, but Konig is only rising 27 and should be open to improvement. Wasn't he well there in the TDF ? Agree about Thomas, he should get the lead role in something prestigious.

Aye corrected thanks, seeing as the Scots voted no he is still a Brit ;)
One Brit out of five for what basically is a British team, Brailsford has earlier in the year told french tv he wanted to sign a French rider to lead the team, not sure where he is leading the team now.
I seriously don't see any of those signings ever leading a grand tour team, domestiques for me.
Sky cycling standing is slipping, other teams have proved this year they are beatable.

Accumulation of small gains I read a while ago. Like Tiger Woods in golf, Sky raised the bar and the rest are catching up/have passed them ?

He was a bit special but I always said the way he ripped through the ball his body wouldnt cope with that in later life, step forward Montgomery, Els etc. who have very steady swings they can carry on at the top for longer.

Tiger Woods hasn't won a major since 2008.

Montgomerie didn't win a single one, whereas Els won four to date.  Would you include Jim Furyk in your list?

I don't take much notice of golf now so cant remember his style, didn't watch any of the Ryder cup, too much whooping and a hollering, golf used to be like cricket a fairly gentlemanly game , what has happened?
It was the steady swings almost pendulum like ones of players that always impressed me.
Peter Alice was another in his playing days, majestic would be the word when I saw him in the 60's.

No-one in his right mind would copy Jim Furyk's swing, he is a genuine one-off. The ones with little apparent effort are the ones best to watch, that includes a lot of the top women players. (For their technical golfing ability obviously). Peter Alliss was a notoriously inconsistent putter hence his personalised number plate PUT3, otherwise he would have ruled the world.
As for the Ryder Cup, I enjoyed it, features for me were a golfing masterclass from Justin Rose and a Never-Give-In masterclass from the allegedly awkward American rookie Patrick Reed.

Over excited yanks sadly, they whoop and holler at everything, morons.

Bit harsh David, Europe were at home and plenty of noise from the home supporters. But no trouble, mostly good natured and appreciative of good play from both sides. Nothing wrong with a bit of passion, I used to feel that way about LCFC.

Just had a look at Furyk's swing on You tube
I still do have the passion for Lincoln City and can't see it subsiding just yet. I'm possibly past my sell by date as far as etiquette goes but the over zealous celebrations are a bit too much to stomach, just a bit more Americanisation of us IMO but that's what the media seem to bring out in players and fans, hey ho.
I am basically a pro European (with caveats) but find that there many supporters of the European Ryder cup team who would leave the European community If given the vote/choice, funny old game saint!.

I can date the decline of my passion for LCFC quite accurately with the benefit of the passing of time. It was intact when we lost to Grimsby (last time I went to Blundell Park) in the playoffs of 2006, which was the last of KA at Lincoln and fifty years since I first went to Sincil Bank . By the time Bristol Rovers came round the following year cracks were showing, despite the first half of the season being full of good things. And there's been a slow but steady decline ever since. A succession of moderate managers and eventual relegation didn't help, and neither did the closing of the Railway End (or Stacey West) for the second time in a few years, the home of most of my football friends, some of whom went back over 40 years. To my knowledge only one of those friends attends regularly now, some have passed on and the rest have drifted away. Ahhh, excuses, excuses.
I sometimes think I shouldn't be on here, I want City to do well and thrive, but freely admit the love affair is probably over for good, and not because I found anyone else. As I've said before I do admire the spirit of all on here who keep the faith. And the breadth of discussion on this forum is amazing.

:Love affair, perhaps more like that "first love", it's over, but you just can't help going back, hopefully not in the physical sense of course.
Now, if only I could remember who it was ;(

Well, I must be very lucky because I am still with my first 'proper' love, bless her.
