Was obviously delighted with the victory. Said the team had been improving over the last few weeks.

Laughed when asked about the "double" training (mornings and shock/horror afternoons). He said there would be plenty more of it up to Christmas. May already be helping players be quicker to the ball.

Seemed to imply that he wasn't too bothered about the lack of loan signings, and that for the moment, he thought the current squad was good enough to keep us up. So the players have until the New Year to prove themselves. There is little doubt however, that if he feels positions need strengthening come January, players will be brought in.

...if they actually want to come here!!!

We've got (another) new manager. Will he be a very good manager? I do hope so.

That's fine,if he instills confidence in those who are here and also brings through a few youngsters, who he speaks highly of, then, together with a few positive results it could be the catalist for the change in fortunes.
Having said that there is a long season ahead but with a gradual improvement like today we could be on the right track.
If Mazza is OK at Forest he will be in again as the number one,it will though by dropping him have displayed to the rest of the squad that no one is untouchable.

It's all up hill from here !

As I understand it the purse strings have been well and truly loosened in a bit to get us up the table.

Hobbs appears to be going to West Ham. We have a sell on. Hughes too appears to be on the move. Hughes sell on will be paltry compared to our cut of the Hobbs money but it does mean the remaining installments on both players will come in.

Feel we may have some very interesting signings in January.

Are you saying that when Hughes and Hobbs are sold, Liverpool and Palace will have to pay the balance, in full, of their fees? Woulkd this include any add-ons?

I gues the sell on for Hughes would be at most 25% (of probably 100k), and Hobbs would depend on how much he went for. Have any figures been suggested?

Didn't realise that Rafa was on about selling Hobbs.

All I've heard is that he's looking to ship him out on loan in order for him to get games in January.

Can't see him selling him considering what's being said about him from the likes of Carragher and Hyypia.

If I'm a child that means you're a pedophile, and I'll be damned if I'm going stand here and take this from a pervert.

There was something in the NOTW last weekend apparently, saying West Ham were after him, though I would admit that a permanent deal for him wouldn't make a lot of sense for Liverpool.

No need for that. I didn't even read the article, just read it on another forum. I would never read such a rag to be honest, but it's not exactly your typical "big-name" rumour, is it?

I read an Independent every day of the week and look forward to the NOTW and People on a sunday so dont knock it!
These rags tend to have the best football writers with the best contacts!

Don't get me wrong, I think their coverage of sport is more 'cutting edge' than the paper I normally read (the guardian and observer or independent). Whilst my left-wing papers have interesting articles, the red-tops DO have the best contacts and transfer news. I was just annoyed that the captain acted in such a condescending manner towards me, as though I'm some moron who believes everything he reads.

No. Nothing like that and nothing aimed at you or anyone else. Was simply a comment because a lot of the stuff in there has been wrong in the past eg Beevers to here there and everywhere and I think the NOTW is a pile of carp. So chill.

That's all.
