You know, it has been a while since a thread has passed the 100 post mark. In fact it was last June when we saw the last one, a fateful day for GazBlades...

This is what I mean;

http://lincolnimps.11.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=6830

We've got (another) new manager. Will he be a very good manager? I do hope so.

Strangely, it seems even sadder to me now...

I'm a bigshot, I'm a millionaire
I'm a genius, I got brains to spare
I'm Napoleon, and there's a world out there
I could be ruling

Me too. I can't wait to watch Beevers, Green, Brown and co running up and down like braindeads.

Oh for someone of his quality. Maybe Ben Wright would have had a better season.

He likes you...

After all that about him going there for a 2 year contract, it seems he only actually signed a 1 year one, and is out of contract in the summer.

I'd still have him back.

Give this man two years and a damn testimonial!!!!

I had a brief chat with him a cple of months ago and although he was a little reserved in what he said he definitely wanted to stay.

Sometimes there is a fourth wise monkey depicted, the last one covers his crotch and symbolizes the principle of Do no Evil

A bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather and ask for it back when it begins to rain.

I know it's not fashionable to prais ethe club on here, but I do get the mild impression that we are starting to be regarded as a stable and progressive club in some quarters.

As I said in my original post on that thread...

Very disappointing
Don't care who comes in would have liked him to stay. Best player by a distance in many games last season

Did County offer 2 years rather than 1 then?

Not according to their site...

"NOTTS County have swooped to sign experienced striker Jamie Forrester.

The 33-year-old has turned down a new deal with Lincoln City to join the Magpies.

And he will pen a one-year deal at Meadow Lane when his contract expires at Sincil Bank at the end of the month."

I am very sad...

And, yes, I too would have him back like a shot!

Anyway, once again back to topic.

As I understand it today, Leicester have made an enquiry of Liverpool for Hobbs. As yet, however, they have not been given any idea of the amount that they may need to pay.

So, withy Freck, N'Guessen and possibly Hobbs all bringing in money, we should be reasonably placed budget-wise next season.

Wont that depend on how much of a loss we make this season though?

I am sure that will be taken into account. My guess is they will budget for 3,600-3,800 next season depending upon any price increase they may have planned!

What ever we budget for next season as regards gates, the simple fact 1st is this years budgeting which unfortunately was incorrect has to be accounted for 1st.
To be quite honest,no matter how much is brought in by players mentioned,I can see the board being cautious in the budget.
Which as much as I like to bitch about them, can be fully justified now, especially as I forsee the sponsorship revenue dropping.

I think you're right there, Mick. I would be disappointed, however, if the budget is substantialy cut.

The various windfalls which may come the clubs way will hopefully added to the budget for next season.

Oh when the Imps go marching in, I want to be in that number!

It's a very decent point Mick. Whatever anybody's views on the board are they certainly seem to have given Jackson a bit more to work with than previous managers. I wouldn't be surprised if Jackson was asked to be a little more cautious in his approach this summer.

The board seemed to support PJ and in return he was probably asked to "big up" the clubs chances for this season. An approach that seems to have backfired for all concerned.

I am certainly not in the 'Jackson Out' camp but I think this seasons disappointment has more to do with him than any lack of support from the board. He has a lot of work to do in the summer.

To me it begs the question how diferent things might have been had Schofield been given similar backing in the summer of 2007.
