Counteh 2-0 up at Wigan!!!

We've got (another) new manager. Will he be a very good manager? I do hope so.

Three consecutive wins seem like a distant memory now!

2-0 seems like we weren't so good.

Still a long season in prospect. Feb 20th away to Grimsby could yet become the most important game of the season!

It's frustrating getting these setbacks and false dawns, but it doesn't take long following Lincoln for you to know that after every decent run there's always a big heap of carp round the corner!

It's annoying and I'm worried that without Baker, Watts and Herd we are remarkably similar to the team that struggled so much earlier in the season. Hopefully they will not be out for too long.

Just have to remain positive!

Froma fairly early point I saw this season as a relegation scarp, and I still do. The only thing we need to do is finish 22nd or higher.

I think Darlo are gone and the other spot is between Grimsby and ourselves, it has been all along. 48 points should be enough, but where will they come from? We need to be drawing our away games to keep the points ticking over.

We will be OK, but not by too much. The young players we have on loan are getting (and will get) injuries, just by the enthusiastic way they go about the job.
CS says the there is not much depth in the squad. Numerically he's wrong, quality wise he's dead right. He's also concerned about our efforts in the scoring area, and in that he's dead right too. It would be nice to see a few scrambled mis-hits to add to the collection of really good goals we scored in our little run....it would be optimistic to think goals like those will keep coming regularly.

Thats what I posted in another thread after Burton. Without Herd, and for me, especially Saunders, the quality is not there. I stand by my view that we will survive, but it will be a damn close run thing and our home form needs to stand up, because we'll only get scarps away.

Seen Keltie and think he will be a decent player for us,not very attacking but solid,Kerr style but more mobile.
There are 5 or 6 clubs avoiding the 2nd relegation spot but say Darlo won a couple, against us then it really will be a scramble.
Good job we won those three,46 points will probably do IMO.

It's all up hill from here !

The worst thing from our point of view is having to play all our rivals AWAY from home over the next 6 weeks or so, starting with Hereford last night we visit Darlo, Grimsby, Torquay and Cheltenham. Losing any of those is bad news as they are "6 pointers". Somehow we have to be able to go to those places and come away with something, but deep down I fear we could lose all of them.

I'm curious as to why you would think that the other teams around us will not be involved as well. Obviously, there is the usual pessimism that we all have about Lincoln's chances but surely Torquay have been down there all season and don't travel well, Cheltenham have little funds and have shown no signs of a new manager pick up, Barnet are in their usual post Xmas freefall and Hereford and Macc are also down there. For me its Darlo plus one from seven (including ourselves) but Grimsby with only 3 wins must be favourites.

We do need to start picking up points away from home and scoring goals if we are to have a comfortable Easter. The next two Tuesdays are important as anything from Chesterfield or Rotherham would really be a bonus. It would be nice to go into the Cods game more than the 8 points ahead of them that we are now.

The loss of Watts, Herd and Baker for any length of time would be a big blow.

I guess I'm just naturally a bit pessimistic! I hope you are right and that the other stay rooted in the scarp as well, which is why not losing to any of them is so important. Clearly we need our injured players back quickly.

A month when we have ten games. Right from the start of the season under Jacko we've had an absolute 'mare with injuries.
